This unit will survey the history of the Catholic Church in Australia; some attention will also be given to the Anglican, Protestant and Eastern Churches, and to the churches in New Zealand. The changing role of the churches and religion in Australian society, church architecture, religious art, Aborigines, the Australian contribution to missions, and the impact of migration will also be treated.
