Rev. Dr Ian Murdoch is a member of the Department of Church History and teaches in medieval and modern church history, and Salesian education and spirituality. He is a priest of the Salesians of Don Bosco (sdb).

Ian Murdoch holds the degree of Doctor of Philosophy from Monash University, with a critical edition of Pierre D’Ailly’s Abbreviatio dyalogi Okan, a work which casts light on the textual tradition of Ockham's Dialogue and on d'Ailly's use of Ockham. He is the immediate past Provincial of the Salesians in Australia and Oceania.
