Rev. Dr John Maher is head of the Department of Philosophy, and lectures in the philosophy of God and Greek philosophy. He is a priest of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate (omi).

John Maher holds the degrees of Bachelor of Sciences (Honours), Diploma of Education, Bachelor of Arts, Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy from Monash University, and a Bachelor of Divinity from the Melbourne College of Divinity. As well as teaching at CTC, he is the Rector of St Mary’s Seminary (Mulgrave), provincial seminary for the Oblates of Mary Immaculate.
His main academic interest is the philosophy of God and issues related to the eternity of God.
