CTC is committed to the provision of a tertiary institution that is safe and consistent with WorkSafe Victoria regulations. CTC and UDiv recognise their obligation to take all reasonable precautions to provide and maintain, so far as is practicable, an environment that is safe and without risks to health for employees, students and visitors (UDiv OHS Policy 3.1). Student Responsibility 
(UDiv General Occupational Health and Safety Policy 4.5) 

All students are responsible for adopting safe work and study practices and are to comply with this policy and with site specific policies and procedures. In addition, students: 
  1. Must not wilfully place at risk the health or safety of any person at the University or its Colleges 
  2. Must not wilfully or recklessly interfere with or misuse anything provided in the interests of health and safety or welfare and must cooperate with the University and its Colleges in relation to actions taken to comply with occupational health and safety legislation
  3. Comply with health and safety instructions
  4. Attend inductions and training as initiated at their College
  5. Take action to avoid, eliminate or minimise hazards
  6. Make proper use of personal protective equipment
  7. Not wilfully place at risk the health and safety of themselves and others
  8. Seek information and advice where necessary
  9. Be familiar with reporting, emergency and evacuation procedures

CTC is a smoke-free environment. Smoking is not permitted in any part of the property, including the carpark, garden and terrace.
