Norman Ford holds the degrees of Licentiate in Sacred Theology from the Pontifical Salesian University (Turin), and Doctor of Philosophy from the Pontifical Salesian University (Rome). He was Director of the Caroline Chisholm Centre for Health Ethics, and Master of Catholic Theological College (1986-91).
His current academic interests are ethical issues at the beginning and end of human life, and ethical issues raised by the bird flu pandemic. He has published extensively in bioethics. Among his recent publications are: Stem Cells, Science, Medicine, Law and Ethics (co-authored with Michael Herbert) (2003); The Prenatal Person: Ethics from Conception to Birth (2002); Christian Conscience (2009); along with many articles in journals and collections.
