Students are to meet regularly, at least monthly, with their supervisor to discuss their progress and share the fruits of their research in seminars. Each student’s topic and its bibliography must also be approved by the Chair of Examiners for Field A.

Prerequisites:
two philosophy units at second level

Assessment:

  • AP397 (15 points) - one 5,000 word essay
  • AP398 (30 points) - one 10,000 word essay

AP398 may be completed over two semesters as AP398A (part 1) and AP398B (part 2).

Students contemplating the philosophy seminar could also consider enrolling in one or more third level semester units offered by the Philosophy Department of Monash University, or the School of Philosophy at Australian Catholic University.
