Rev. Dr Simon Wayte MGL is a lecturer at Catholic Theological College and a member of the Department of Systematic Theology. He is Dean of Studies at the Missionaries of God's Love Seminary in Burwood.

He has taught Values Education at Fatima University in the Philippines (2004-5).
He holds the degrees of Certificate IV in Training and assessment from Charles Darwin University, Bachelor of Science (Honours) from the University of Adelaide, Bachelor of Theology from the University of Divinity, Graduate Certificate of Education from Australian Catholic University, Doctor of Philosophy from the Australian National University with the thesis titled "The Structure, Dynamics and Evolution of the Magellanic System" and a Doctor of Theology from the University of Divinity with a thesis titled "Towards a Christology of Presence". 
His theological doctoral research studied the presence of the risen Christ in the world today. His current academic interests include Christology, Ecclesiology, Mariology, and with a background in astrophysics he has an academic interest in the dialogue between faith and science.
His recent publications are: "The Risen Christ: Present and Embodied in Consecrated Life Today."
